http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/lamaindethot/357 L’étude proposée ici tente d’explorer des traductions des textes iqbaliens en tenant compte des enjeux de la traduction plurilingues vers une culture monolingue. À partir des traductions des textes poétiques d’Iqbal – poète du sous-continent indien, XXe siècle –, on essaiera d’explorer le passage d’une culture plurilingue, celle de l’Orient arabe et persan, à une culture monolingue, celle de l’Occident. La problématique actuelle focalise sur :- les symboles qu’emploie Iqbal (faucon, ver luisant, papillon, etc.) - les termes iqbaliens qui traitent des concepts de khudi (maîtrise de soi), homme idéal, regard visionnaire, volonté, etc.On tente de s’interroger sur le développement d’un interculturalisme : quels seront donc ceux des enjeux et spécificités des traductions des termes iqbaliens qui possèdent une forte spécialité régionale et religieuse et qui sont néanmoins plurilingues ? Afin de traiter de telles interrogations, on abordera des textes poétiques qui relèvent ces problématiques. The present inquiry seeks to explore the translations of Iqbalian texts keeping in view the various challenges of the multilingual translations in a monolingual culture. Through translations of poetic texts of Iqbal –20th century poet of the Indian subcontinent – we intend to explore the connection from a multilingual culture, that of the Persian and Arab Oriental region, towards a monolingual culture, that of the French Occidental region. The central query of this paper focuses upon:- Symbols that Iqbal has used in his poetry, e.g. eagle, glow-worm, moth, etc.- Iqbalian terms that identify the concept of khudi (mastery of self), the perfect man, the vision, desire, etc.We propose to cross examine the development of interculturalism: What would be the specificities and the challenges of the translations of the iqbalian terms which possess a strong regional and religious specialty that is nevertheless multilingual? In order to deal with such questions, we are taking those poetic texts which highlight our central query.
