Problem of “I” by Gustav Shpet: Experience and Interpretation.
The main approach to the problem of “I” or “Me” by Shpet is a semantic-linguistically one: “I” is a homonym and one must choose the true meaning of the term. “I” is not a subject or soul or transcendental apperception and such like. “I” is interpreted as a social thing among other things. It is unique but it has its typical features. The relation between both characteristics of “I” or person as a social thing is established by the unity of its destination and irreplaceability. Such characteristics are nothing other than a euphemism for a strong social determination.
