Abstract

Gustav Shpet and Modern Philosophic Problems in Humanities

Shpet’s ideas are of real significance for humanitarian disciplines of nowadays, such as 1) psychology (“typology of cultural consciousness” – cultural-historical approach); 2) history, culturology, politology (“historical semasiology ” – history of concepts); 3) linguistics and study of literature (inner form of the word – structural-semiotic approach); 4) philosophy (“hermeneutic dialectics” - deconstruction). The report suggests that Shpet’s devotion to communicative approach – the one accepted in Russian philosophy with the latter’s emphasis on a certain idea of communication (a kind of rationalized ‘sobornost’ – the ‘being together’ cult), the one underlying the ontological turn to the word and language – is the reason for the current interest in the thinker’s ideas. The thesis is substantiated with the help of Shpet’s published pieces and with his manuscripts’ reconstructions.
