At the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the question of a new man arises at individual and collective levels; it has social but also mystical-philosophical aspects. The proletarian poets, among others, try to answer to that question. Their social demands are inseparable from the development of a new man, and that's also what offers the cosmism. The rejection of private property and family, the cult of the machines, the idea that human capabilities can be indefinitely improved up to achieving immortality, the rejection of sexual life, contempt for nature, such are the similarities, at least for a moment, between these two streams. But the cosmist moment of the proletarian poets is short. In the early 1920s, some of them are already protesting against the side excessively abstract of this new way of romanticism, far from the realities.
