Le dernier spectacle de Kantor, Aujourd’hui c’est mon anniversaire, expose comme dans un testament la relation particulière qui lie l’artiste polonais au metteur en scène russe Vsevolod Meyerhold. L’article pose les bases de cette relation dialogique et étudie la façon dont elle est exposée à l’acte V du spectacle. L’absence de Kantor sur scène, disparu avant la première d’Aujourd’hui c’est mon anniversaire, intensifie cette relation : le Théâtre de la Mort de Kantor est porté à son niveau supérieur. « Ma vie, mon destin, se sont identifiés avec mon œuvre. Une œuvre d’art. »
Kantor’s latest play, Today is My Birthday, is a testament to the special relationship between the Polish artist and the Russian director Vsevolod Meyerhold. The article lays the foundations of this dialogical relationship and studies the way it is exposed in Act V of the play. Kantor’s absence from the stage, having passed away before the premiere of Today is My Birthday, intensifies this relationship: Kantor’s Theater of Death is taken to its next level. “My life, my destiny, identified with my work. A work of art.”
Последний спектакль Кантора Сегодня – мой день рождения представляет как в завещании особую связь, соединяющую польского художника и русского режиссёра Всеволода Мейерхольда. В статье излагаются основы этой связи в форме диалога и изучается способ, которым она выражается в пятом действии спектакля. Отсутствие Кантора на сцене, умершего до премьеры, ещё больше усиливает эту связь. Театр Смерти Кантора переходит на высший уровень: «Моя жизнь, моя судьба слились воедино с моими произведениями и получилось произведение искусства».
