Cet article analyse la fonction esthétique de l’Orient dans Le Don (1938), dernier roman russe de Nabokov. L’Orient que Nabokov décrit de manière très fidèle joue un rôle particulier dans l’approche des concepts de l’imagination et de la fiction. Les jeux sur le statut du narrateur permettent à l’auteur une exploration polyphonique de l’Orient. L’article démontre comment les recherches esthétiques du texte se condensent dans cette thématique originale.

This article analyses the aesthetic function of the Orient in Vladimir Nabokov’s final Russian novel The Gift (1938). The Orient that Nabokov very authentically describes has a particular role in shaping the concepts of imagination and fiction. The play on the narrator’s status lets the author explore with polyphony the Orient. This article shows how the author’s aesthetic researches condense in this original theme.

В данной статье анализируется эстетическая функция Востока в романе «Дар» (1938), последнем произведении Набокова на русском языке. Восток, описываемый Набоковым максимально точно, играет особую роль в подходе к концептам воображения и вымысла в творчестве писателя. Автор использует своего рода игру со статусом нарратора, позволяющую ему полифоническое исследование Востока. В статье показывается, каким образом эстетические поиски данного текста конденсируются в выборе этой необычной тематики.
