Cette contribution présente la thèse de Ksenia Pimenova, soutenue en 2012 à l’EHESS (Paris) et consacrée aux aspects institutionnels, identitaires et rituels du renouveau post-soviétique des religions traditionnelles chez les Touvas de la Sibérie du Sud (Russie). L’interrogation centrale porte sur la notion de savoirs religieux dans le bouddhisme et le chamanisme, analysés dans des perspectives diachronique et synchronique. La thèse prête attention aux mécanismes respectifs de transmission de savoirs dans le passé, et s’intéresse à leur reconstruction et à leur organisation sociale pendant la période post-soviétique. Elle fait le constat de la diversité de réponses du bouddhisme et du chamanisme face à l’interruption de transmissions. Ainsi, alors que la communauté bouddhiste de Touva est obligée de « réimporter » les savoirs religieux de l’étranger, le chamanisme post-soviétique réussit à mobiliser une grande variété de « sources de saviors » : la mémoire collective, la tradition orale, mais aussi l’ethnographie soviétique et les mouvements spirituels et néochamaniques occidentaux.
The PhD thesis of Ksenia Pimenova, defended in 2012 at the EHESS (Paris), studies the institutional, identity and ritual aspects of the post-soviet revival of the traditional religions of the Tuvas in South Siberia (Russia). It focuses on the notion of religious knowledge in Buddhism and Shamanism from a diachronic and synchronic perspective. It explores their respective mechanisms of knowledge transmission in the past and analyses their reconstruction and social organization during the post-soviet period. It shows the diversity of resources that Buddhism and Shamanism mobilize when confronted with the consequences of interruption in the knowledge transmission during the Soviet period. While the Buddhist community of Tuva is forced to «re-import» the religious knowledge from abroad, the post-soviet Shamanism manages to call up to a great variety of «sources of knowledge»: the collective memory, the oral tradition, but also the Soviet ethnography and the spiritual and neo-shamanic movements from the West.
Данная статья является кратким содержанием диссертации Ксении Пименовой, которую она защитила в Париже в 2012 году. Её работа посвящена институциональным, ритуальным и идентификационным проблемам послесоветского обновления и возрождения традиционных религий у тувинцев в Южной Сибири. Основной вопрос касается понятия религиозного знания в буддизме и шаманизме, рассматриваемого в диахронической и синхронической перспективе. В диссертации уделяется внимание соответствующим механизмам передачи знаний в прошлом и их реконструкции и социальной организации в послесоветский период. В своей диссертации автор приходит к выводу о различии ответов буддизма и шаманизма на вопрос о прерванной передаче. Таким образом, если буддистское сообщество в Туве вынуждено импортровать религиозное знание из-за границы, послесоветский шаманизм сумел мобилизовать большое разнообразие «источников знания»: коллективную память, устную традицию, а также советскую этнографию, духовные движения и западный неошаманизм.
