In this article, Svetlana Semionova presents three portraits of thinkers who try to think from their own singularity about the future of mankind in a world in evolution. A highly marked singularity, since the focus here is on a Russian essayist Fëdorov, a French Jesuit (Teilhard de Chardin) and an Indian mystic (Aurobindo). For each of them, the central issue is the future of man (and humanity) – anthropogenesis – on the threshold of a world whose structures are permanently changing and becoming more complex, as Teilhard observed in his research on geology and paleontology. Fëdorov and Teilhard de Chardin have a religious base in the Christian tradition, although submitted to a fairly radical reconsideration, with a special emphasis, for Teilhard de Chardin, on the notion of cosmogenesis. The largest costrast concerns the Indian thinker, for whom anthropogenesis moves man away from the world, urging him to break free from inherited humanity to something to appear in himself that could be called a quasi-deity. The relationships between these three figures is complex, in both their similarities and their contrasts.
