En 1817, le poète sous-estimé Fiodor Glinka termine la publication de ses Lettres à un ami, une suite à son œuvre la plus importante, Lettres d'un officier russe. C'est le moment où la vague révolutionnaire monte en Europe et en Amérique du Sud et se propage jusqu'en Russie. En même temps, l'Empire russe se lance dans la conquête du Caucase, tandis que le mysticisme maçonnique et théosophe gagne du terrain. Organisateur, éditeur, traducteur, pédagogue, écrivain, Fiodor Glinka s'avère être une figure de première importance dans tous ces domaines. Une brève discussion de son « récit populaire » Lucas et Marie (1818) permet de poser la question de la place des Juifs dans la société et la littérature russes de cette époque..
An underestimated poet Fedor Glinka is presented in the ambience of the year 1817, as he achieves the publishing Letters to a Friend, a sequel to his main work, Letters of a Russian Officer. A revolutionary wave swells in Europe, in the South America, and arrives in Russia, where at the same time begins the conquest of Caucasus and the masonic and theosophical mysticism is gaining ground. Glinka plays a pivotal role in several fields, translating, editing, writing and organizing the cultural and military life of this epoch. While discussing Glinka's «folk tale» Lucas and Maria (1818), the paper approaches briefly the issue of Jews in Russian society and literature around 1817.
В 1817 году недооцененный поэт Федор Глинка завершает публикацию «Писем к другу», продолжающих его главное произведение, «Письма русского офицера». В этот момент в Европе и Южной Америке поднимается революционная волна, которая доходит и до России. Вместе с тем Российская империя начинает завоевание Кавказа. а масонский и теософский мистицизм обретает все больше последователей. Во всех этих сферах =Федор Глинка оказывается фигурой первого плана, как организатор, издатель, переводчик, педагог и писатель. Обсуждение его «народной повести» «Лука да Марья» (1818) позволяет осветить вопрос о месте евреев в русском обществе и литературе того времени
